Student Organizations
Looking for another meaningful way to contribute to our cause? Bring the movement on your campus!
At Conversations to Remember, we are dedicated to combating senior loneliness and isolation. While our virtual visits connect individuals directly with seniors, Conversations to Remember Student Organizations (C2R-SOs) offer an incredible opportunity to build a community on campus while supporting seniors, raising awareness, and giving back.
Whether or not you participate in our virtual visit program, starting or joining a C2R-SO allows you to make a tangible difference in the lives of isolated older adults alongside your peers.
These clubs complement the national nonprofit by executing localized initiatives. We charge no membership fees for students. Instead, each SO is expected to host at least three events every semester, one of each of our core event types.
Senior Support Events ("Senior of the Semester")
Each semester, your C2R-SO will be paired with a specific senior from our program. We’ll provide a profile highlighting their likes, dislikes, favorite foods, movies, hobbies, etc. Your club will host one or more events dedicated to sending them joy!
Fun Ideas: If their favorite food is pizza, host a pizza night and record a casual, vlog-style video to share your experiences and send warm messages to them.
Tactile Gifts: Create large greeting cards, paint mugs, decorate flower pots, or make keepsake bracelets to send directly to your assigned senior.
Awareness Events
Help educate your campus and community about the realities of senior isolation, loneliness, and related conditions like cognitive decline. Examples include:
Movie Nights: Host a screening of films or TV episodes touching on these themes (such as The Notebook, The Father, Still Alice, Coco, or Inside Out) to spark meaningful conversations.
Food & Chat Events: Connect students over food! Utilize campus kitchens for cooking challenges or order favorites like nachos or pizza to host a discussion about C2R’s mission.
Guest Speakers: Bring in local authorities or campus experts to discuss senior care and cognitive decline.
Improv & Mock Call Discussions: Share tips about virtual communication, and host fun improv exercises to help prospective volunteers practice their skills.

Fundraising Events
To keep our programs running and free for everyone, each SO must run at least one fundraising event per semester. Ideas include:
Campus tabling
Restaurant profit shares (many local spots offer student organization discounts!)
Food sales
Ticketed movie nights.
Important Guidelines to Keep in Mind
To maintain the safety and quality standards of our organization, SOs operate under a few specific guidelines:
Virtual Visits vs. Club Activities: Virtual visits require separate individual training and evaluation. While members are highly encouraged to apply for virtual visits, club membership does not guarantee acceptance into the program.
Independent Visits: Clubs cannot establish their own independent virtual visit programs or organize localized on-site senior visits under the C2R name.
Communication: Clubs must officially register with us and report their planned activities each semester.
